Security measures have been put in place to protect the newly installed cables in Atlas Road.
Residents of Beyers Park, Bardene, Bartlett and Impala Park were without electricity on June 18 and also sometime last week.
According to Ward 22 Clr Ruhan Robinson, the cause of the power outage was due to power cables that were stolen in Atlas Road on June 17.
Themba Gadebe, spokesperson for the metro, confirmed that the same cables were stolen twice in the last two weeks.
“Guards have been placed in the area to protect the cables,” Gadebe said.
