Local fitness sensation Penny Wilbers heading for world champs
Wilbers placed an impressive second in the fitness over 35 category and third in the fitness over 40 category to book her ticket to the European nation.
Sunward Park fitness sensation Penny Wilbers is heading to Slovenia for the World Championships that will take place on Youth Day, June 16.
This followes a top three finish in both her categories at the Pro Diva national show recently held in Kempton Park.
Quizzed on whether her placings were a fair reflection of the day’s proceedings, the personal trainer responded: “I think it was fair, I’m proud of myself.
“I’m 16 years their senior in the 35 category and 11 years in the 40 category.”
On her preparations for the upcoming global tournament, she explained: “I am working to come in a bit leaner, standards are very high there.
“I would like to mention my son Wesley du Plessis for all his support. He is my personal trainer, he even prepares every single meal for me. He motivates me and is my taxi driver.”
