The company, formerly known as Barloworld Handling, made the donation as part of its corporate social investment initiatives.
Zoleka Mnanzana, transformation manager at BHBW, said the company first interacted with Comet Primary in August when they made a donation of sanitary pads to learners.
“During our visit we were shown around the school and noticed there were others ways we could assist the school and give back to the community.”
The company donated 30 ‘jolly’ tables and 120 ‘jolly’ chairs for foundation phase learners, and 130 desks and 260 chairs for intermediate phase learners.
Comet Primary principal Lawrence Marapjane couldn’t stop praising the company for its gesture of goodwill.
“We are grateful and appreciative of the donation of furniture from BHBW, for it will have a positive impact on the quality of teaching,” he said.
