Watch: The Advertiser on the scene of the damaged substation
The Advertiser visited the damaged substation in Jet Park this morning (October 10).
According to a tweet by the metro, work to repair the substation is underway with power to Jet Park possibly restored only by the weekend.
Damage to the substation caused widespread power outages as areas such as Atlasville, Plantation and Witfield among others are fed from this substation in Yaldwyn Road.
The Advertiser is waiting for the official statement from the metro on this matter.
The Advertiser also spoke to Phuthi Moloto from the Department of Energy who was at the substation that caught fire yesterday.
The cause of the fire is yet unknown.
