Blues held to two-all draw

The Boksburg Football Club were denied their first win in over a month as Roberstham Callies netted in the 79th minute to force a two-all draw in their ELFA Super League match on August 26.

In-form forward Ashton Gardner scored on either side of the half-time break to put the travellers in a good position before the local side were forced to settle for the stalemate.

The Blues enjoyed one of their better showings and created several chances including one that came off the crossbar and another off the upright.

According to stand-in coach, Ernest Seforo it’s an encouraging sign which means it’s only a matter of time until the Boksburg City Stadium outfit earn that sought-after win.

“The team played well and I was more impressed by the energetic 18-year-old goalkeeper, Tyrone Landman, who pulled off some crucial saves. He was on top of his game,” said Seforo.

“Overall the game was equal from both sides. We hit the crossbar and upright and the team’s performance was great.

“We haven’t won in a long time. The point we won will encourage us to collect three points.” – @SabeloBoksburg
