Masonic lodges celebrate 300th anniversary of Grand Lodge

The Boksburg Freemasons Lodge hosted an event to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the Grand Lodge, on July 29.

At the event, which took place at the Central East Rand Temple, in Jubilee Road, Boksburg South, non-members had the opportunity to learn about Freemasonry.

They could also view the Lodge Room where five English Lodges meet regularly.

Partners and wives were welcome to join.

Members of different Masonic lodges attended the celebration.

According to Alan Clothier, of the Boksburg Lodge, Masonry is a journey of self-discovery. He explained that Freemasonry is an organisation that focuses on fraternity and charity.

It is one of the world’s oldest and largest non-religious, non-political, fraternal and charitable organisations.

The Lodge Room laid out for a meeting.

It welcomes men of all religions, ethnic groups, political views or economic standing.

The Boksburg Freemasons meet at 7.30pm every second Tuesday of the month.
