Also in attendance were local business people, members of the EMPD Social Crime Prevention Unit, Fighting for Change and representatives of Victory Outreach East Rand.
Escorted by the EMPD, Amakhosi supporters and other guests, waving placards and banners, marched through several streets of the township.
Known drug hotspots were also visited during the march.
The crowd then proceeded to the Reiger Park sports arena on St Anthony’s Road, where the attendees gathered and enjoyed the other festivities.
Speakers during the event included Puleng Nkopane of the EMPD Social Crime Prevention Unit, Reiger Park SAPS’ Sgt Lufuno Mudzuli, Reiger Park CPF’s Nokuphiwa Nkebe who also serves as a ward committee member and other speakers.
The police thanked all the individuals and organisations working hard to support the police in the fight against crime.
