WATCH: Thrilling finale to Rocksburg Arm Wrestle challenge
RocoMamas Boksburg hosted its first Rocksburg Arm Wrestle challenge this year, with Quinten “Bees” Wakeford winning the finals held on Wednesday evening, May 17.
He defeated Shaun Geel to win the title of #RocksburgWrestleChampion.
It was a night full of adrenaline, excitement, entertainment and thrilling action as the winners of the preliminary rounds held earlier in the year plus wildcard entries battled it out for glory.
One of the guests of the evening was multi-talented South African actress Sarah Kozlowski, known for numerous roles on TV in series such as Jongo, Thola and Isidingo.
Arm wrestling is an internationally recognised sport, governed by strict rules and regulations.
To restore the credibility of arm wrestling, Costa Carastavrakis from RocoMamas Boksburg staged the amateur tournament during which the South African Arm Wrestling Federation (affiliated to the World Arm Wrestling Federation) officiated.
Due to the popularity of the tournament, on the same day the official launch of the Rocksburg Arm Wrestle Club was also held.
Carastavrakis said they are in the process of registering the club, which will add to the roughly 10 arm-wrestling clubs in South Africa.
They are hoping for members of the club to eventually compete in the SA’s.
