Law enforcement walks against crime

Boksburg North SAPS members, together with the Witfield Community Policing Forum, took to the streets of Witfield on February 25.

They held a crime awareness campaign by walking through the problematic streets and handing out safety tips to the homeowners and pedestrians.

They were very visible and well noted by the community.

“The people of Witfield welcomed this campaign with open arms,” said the Boksburg North SAPS communications officer, Capt Juanita Coetzer.

The members also stopped and interacted with the community at Witfield Spar in Main Street.

“The the community asked advice and received assistance from the members involved.”

They gathered at the dam in Sharon Street to regroup and departed to Comet where they also walked through a few streets and handed out pamphlets.

“This was a great effort by the SAPS members and the CPF, who gave up their own time to support the SAPS,” said Coetzer.

“Thank you to all involved, as well as the to community.”
