Rapid racing at The Rock

The renowned Rock Raceway will roar to life on Saturday, March 11 as drivers pedal their chariots around the 400m oval in hot pursuit of the ultimate spot on the podium.

This event will also pay tribute to one of oval track racing legends and crowd favourite, Harry van der Spuij.

Van der Spuij raced midgets as well as V8 sprints back in the day and helped many sprint car drivers over the years here in SA.

Plenty of V8 action from V8 sprints cars will ensure high-power thrills.

A host of oval saloons classes will also be racing, including the 1600 stock rods, 1660 modified saloons and super saloons, just to name a few. Open-wheelers will include the micro midgets, and Formula 2 midgets.

High-speed action from Formula N circuit cars will keep you riveted to your seat as the saloon car drivers jostle for position around the tricky race circuit.

With plenty of chicanes and tight corners passing each other, viewing can be hair-raising at the best of times but very entertaining for the crowds nonetheless.
