Boksburg car salesman pleads guilty to child porn, rape

A Boksburg car salesman facing over 800 charges, which include child rape, exploitation, sexual assault and child pornography, has pleaded guilty in the South Gauteng High Court today.

It is understood that matter was initially set down for 25 to 30 days, but the court said it would now take approximately 10 days to complete due the guilty plea.

The 39-year-old Atlasville resident, who is charged with the possession, manufacturing and distribution of child pornography, appeared in court on April 11.

He was arrested on September 30, 2015 at his workplace, after police established that he had stored child pornography on his laptop.

National police spokesperson Brig Vishnu Naidoo then said the man allegedly took and posted photos of his girlfriend’s four-year-old daughter, sharing them with users as far as the United States of America.

The suspect is alleged to have taken as many as 50 pictures of the victim in naked poses and to have advertised them online, while the child’s mother was oblivious of what her daughter was being subjected to by her boyfriend.

“After receiving and following up on information from their US colleagues, the specialised team working for the South African Police Service’s Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit, based in Gauteng, arrested the suspect at his place of work in Boksburg,” said Naidoo.

The police specialised investigation team searched the car dealership in Boksburg.
“It was established that the suspect had child pornography stored in the hard drive of his laptop,” said Naidoo.

The police then raided his house and seized three laptops, two external hard drives, two cellphones, memory cards, a DVD, one Play Station console and a mini spy-camera, believed to belong to him.

Naidoo said the suspect’s online adventures were first detected by the Homeland Security of the US, and were eventually traced to South Africa.
