Business in Ekurhuleni has a new voice

Coordinating and fostering solid relations between the City of Ekurhuleni and private sector is now easier following the launch of a Business Council recently.

“To date, over 41 000 businesses across 8 000 industries are conducting business with the metro,” confirmed the Mayor, Clr Mzwandile Masina during of the launch business council.

According to Masina this huge number demands the City’s increased and smooth cooperation with business.

“We have set up an interim advisory board to begin work that will ensure that council is inclusive of every sector in order to achieve one voice for business,” the mayor said.

The business council has been well received by the business sector in Ekurhuleni.

“We are very excited for this initiative because it will open wide access to the city’s leadership, which is very important for investment.

“I would encourage every business forum to be part of the council. it’s cold and lonely out there,” said Chris Van Biljon, CEO of the Ekurhuleni Business Initiative.

Chairperson of the interim advisory board, Thabang Hlanyane, has made an appeal to all business to be part of the council in order to contribute to the City’s growth and the advancement of the local economy.
