No action to attend to water leak

It has been two months since Theuns Goosen reported a water leak in his driveway and he is still waiting for it to be repaired.

Goosen, a Comet resident, is now at wits’ end with the Ekurhuleni Metro, which seems to be ignorant of the ‘urgent’ situation.

He logged a call on June 7 and again on August 4, but to no avail.

“Thousands of liters of water are being wasted,” said Goosen.

The Advertiser is awaiting a comment from the metro.

Early July, the Advertiser reported on a water pipe burst outside a property in Main Road, Witfield.

Two weeks since the incident was reported (July 4), the problem has still not been attended to.

The burst pipe has reportedly caused major damage to the house and the yard nearby.

According to metro spokesperson, Themba Gadebe, officials attended to the work and it has been completed.
