The staff at the East Rand Square Boksburg welcomed donors who braved the cold weather to donate blood to save lives.
Clinic supervisor, Mathapelo Sebothoma said the aim of the special occasion is to raise awareness on the importance of donating blood.
Regular donor Derek Mitchley, who supported World Blood Donor Day said he will continue to make donations as he knows it saves lives.
Another blood donor, Khanyisile Mbatha said she has been donating blood since her high school days as she knows her blood can make a difference.
SANBS encourages people to join the family of donors who are dedicated to giving other people the gift of life through donating blood.
