Boksburg High learners learn get closer to nature

Boksburg High School Life Science learners recently visited the Bokkie Park for their annual excursion.

The aim of the trip was for the learners to investigate the ecology of the park.

Learners had to collect and analyse data on different specimens in the ecosystems in and around the park.

Boksburg High learner Tamzynn Greaves said: “We had so much fun while at the same time learning as we had to measure an area of the wetland and observe the different insects in their different habitats.

“Some of the insects were worms, spiders, grasshoppers, dragonflies and butterflies. It was an interesting and stimulating experience to observe how organisms live and feed in their different habitats.”
