Paramedics assist ducklings cross N12 highway in Boksburg

Paramedics do not only care about saving human life but that of animals too.

EMER-G-MED’s M04 received reports of a group of ducklings and their parents trying to cross the N12 highway in Boksburg in the afternoon of March 16.

“On arrival M04, crewed by Kate and Craig, found that motorists had been following the ducks along the highway to ensure that they weren’t hit by any vehicles,” said EMER-G-MED’s on their facebook page.

M04 as well as First Road vehicles stopped the traffic while the ducklings waddled across into the grassy centre island of the highway.

“Thankfully the crew and bystanders were able to catch the five ducklings, and reunited them with their parents on the side of the highway, they were then moved to a nearby lake.

“A big thank you to all the bystanders, First Road and EMER-G-MED crews for saving this duck family.”
