Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi said the department is implementing an online registration system which will go live on April 5.

Lesufi said the admission period for 2017 starts on April 11 and will end on September 7, by which date all applicants should be placed.

He said verification and registration commences on April 11 and the application period commences on April 19 to June 1.

The current enrolment in public schools is 2 326 584, an increase of 64 265 learners from the 2015 enrolment of 2 262 319.
