“In 1979 the business was sold to Cementation and my father continued to pursue other business interests.”

Derek pointed out that his father served on the board of the Boksburg Industrialists Association for about 20 years.

“Until his passing on December 12, he was also actively involving in the family business, BP Wiggill Engineering,” said Derek.

“As president of Meehanite Africa, my father was also able to share a wealth of knowledge and experience with the South African foundry industry.

“Throughout his life he continued to work towards the improvement of the Boksburg community.

“He was truly a dedicated husband, father and grandfather, and will be sorely missed by family and friends.”
