This is according to EMPD media liaison officer Kobeli Mokheseng.
“The arrests included nine for driving while under the influence of alcohol, one for a warrant of arrest (traffic fines related), two for illegal trading of alcohol (tavern/shebeen) and one for possession of stolen property,” said Mokheseng.
In Dawn Park a total of eight were arrested for driving while under the influence of alcohol.
The officers made 24 arrests in Reiger Park.
“Of these arrests, 21 were nabbed for driving while under the influence of alcohol, two for being in the country illegally and one for possession of unlicensed firearm,” said Mokheseng.
In Vosloorus 24 people were arrested for driving while under the influence of alcohol.
Mokheseng said all suspects were detained at Boksburg, Boksburg North, Reiger Park, Vosloorus and Dawn Park police stations and they were expected to appear at the Vosloorus and Boksburg Magistrate’s courts.
