Boksburg High excels with 99 per cent pass rate

Excited Boksburg High School learners gathered at the school to collect their results on January 6.

The learners expressed joy as they hugged and kissed their classmates, bade farewell and shared best wishes for the future.

And there was reason to be joyous as Boksburg High School class of 2015 received 99 per cent pass rate this year with 173 distinctions.

Two learners, Joshua Dunlop and Retabile Tseeke, shone all the way to the top with seven distinctions each.
Joshua obtained distinctions in English home language, Afrikaans first additional language, mathematics, life orientation, accounting, life science and physical sciences.

Tseeke obtained distinctions in English home language, Afrikaans first additional language, mathematics, life orientation, accounting, economics, and physical sciences.

“I am very happy and lost for words because of the seven distinctions I received,” said Dunlop.

“My secret for my success was studying with my peers and always asking questions if I didn’t understand something.
“I am thinking of taking a gap year to figure out exactly what I want to do.”

A total of 11 students achieved distinctions from four to seven distinctions.

Daina du Preez and Clinton Waite scored six distinctions each, Tamia Adolph, Robyn Newton and Is’haaq Suliman scored five distinctions, while Dillan Birkett, Michael Brandstatter, Stacey Holmes and Sandile Sibanyoni all received four distinctions.

Deputy principal, Helene Boshoff, said the school is very proud of their learners for their hard work and determination they put in during the whole year.
