Information about the project is still sketchy, but, according to ward 32 councillor Johan Hendricks, the improvement project includes the construction of an amphitheatre, high-mast lighting and landscaping of the park.
Hendricks said the city will use the facility to host outdoor events.
“Once it’s complete, the theatre will be available to people who want to hold their events, such as concerts and other special events,” said Hendricks.
The Advertiser understands that contractors commenced construction a few months ago.
It is still unclear when will the project be completed and how much does it costs.
