Fronting as a hot-deli shop, Nigerian national busted for dealing in Cat

The EMPD Germiston Crime Prevention Task team on “Operation Bumper to Bumper” stints, acted on a tip off which led to the arrest of a drug dealer in a shop situated in Commissioner street.

According to Chief Supt Wilfred Kgasago, EMPD spokesperson, a Nigerian man with the drug Cat valued at R5 000 was arrested and the drugs confiscated.

The arrest took place on Saturday, November 21 at around 3pm.

“A complaint was received of dodgy characters, who never looked like they were purchasing what was displayed at the hot-deli shop shelves, were frequenting the shop at all hours,” said Kgasago.

“The metro police pounced and caught the suspected drug peddler in possession of five packets of the drug Cat.

“The suspect (36) was charged at Boksburg police station with possession and distribution of illicit substances. He is expected to appear in the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court soon.”
