Coulentianos stars in Duduza win

CBC Old Boys’ opening frontman Wesley Coulentianos was back to his sparkling best, with an innings of 88 runs, as his side secured a conventional win over Duduza, at Willowmoore’s Sahara Park, on Sunday, November 8.

With Duduza having set a manageable 184 runs, by Old Boy’s standards, in their allocated 50 overs, the Easterns batsman took matters into his own hands in chasing down the 185-run target, taking the pressure off his team’s batting order.

Apart from the stutter of losing Adam Forbes for four runs, Old Boys knocked off the target without much trouble after 35.5 overs, to secure a comfortable eight-wicket win.

Wickus Germishuizen, who starred in CBC’s previous match against Springs with his ton, chipped in with his unbeaten five, along with Dylan Bennie’s undefeated 58, to see their side across the line.

Duduza’s Dylan Stanley top-scored for his side, with an outstanding 73, but it wasn’t enough to save the team from Old Boys’ might.

Old Boys’ Vincent Moore (2/22; three maidens) led the day’s bowling figures.

His side moves on for an exciting encounter against rivals Boksburg Cricket Club, on Sunday.

Duduza will be looking to bounce back when they meet Tembisa, also on Sunday.

Fixtures are scheduled for a 9.30am start. – @SabeloBoksburg
