East Point construction enters Phase 2

Hot on the heels of the opening of East Point’s (previously East Rand Galleria Shopping Centre) new Entrance 1 and improved parking facilities, construction at the shopping centre is kicking up a gear as work on the Parrott’s entrance starts.

“The opening of the new Entrance 1 and improved parking has definitely alleviated many of our shoppers’ concerns as confirmed by the many positive comments we’ve received from shoppers as construction work continues into the next phase,” said Marietjie Pienaar, East Point Centre Manager.

“This month sees the old Parrott’s Restaurant entrance closed to the public as construction work continues in and around the centre.

“For ease of shopper access to the Eastern part of the shopping centre, a temporary entrance has been opened next to Cajees. Directional signage has been erected to make the entrance more visible.

“The next phase of construction will entail the demolition of the old Barnyard area and include further work on the link between Game and East Point.

“The new traffic circle in the parking area is complete and has greatly improved traffic flow into and out of East Point.”

She said the following tenants have taken up new floor space and are open for trading: Nike Factory Store, Idelic Fruit & Nut and Bidvest Bank.

“Although only opening next year, shopping centre visitors will already have seen the Gym Company promoters selling contracts to their new lifestyle gym.

“Vodacom, situated at the link between East Point and East Rand Mall opened their doors to the public on September 24 and the new East Point Medical Centre has moved upstairs above Entrance 1.

“Bringing additional high-end fashion to East Point is the exciting new store, Le Coq Sportif.

“Our shoppers are important to us and we’re committed to keeping everyone informed and up to date with all our exciting happenings at East Point,”said Pienaar.
