New president aims to grow Boksburg Lake Rotary

The new president of Boksburg Lake Rotary Club, Michele Choromanski, has set her sights on immediate plans which she wishes to achieve during her one year tenure.

Her plans include continuing with existing projects, such as, among others, the Lona Kruger Feeding Scheme, Cosmos and Vita Nova, while she looks at increasing membership in this time of growing need in the community.

As the newly elected head of the organisation, she is aware that she is expected to guide the club in accordance with its constitution and by-laws.

Choromanski said the club is faced with many challenges, including static membership, and also the fact that there is a competition for resources.

“I will increase awareness with an active PR programme and make participation in our activities attractive,” she said.

Before taking up her role as president, she served as secretary for the past five years.

She is an income tax consultant by trade, and has been in her current employment for 19 years.

As a resident of Boksburg she attended Martin and Boksburg High schools.

Choromanski obtained a BCompt (Hnrs) from Unisa and described being a Rotarian as “a way of life”.

Her message to the Boksburg community is to ” join us in implementing Rotary International president Ravi Ravindram’s theme for 2015/2016, which is ‘Be a gift to the world'”.

She urges the community to support their fund-raisers, especially their upcoming Golf Day, at ERPM, on October 13.
