This is according to Srgt Mashudu Phathela, Reiger Park SAPS spokesperson.
“According to a statement from a witness, a heated argument between the deceased and the suspect – a man – led to the murder,” said Phathela.
Phathela said it appears as if the woman and the suspect returned from a tavern early in the morning to engage in sexual activity in a shack.
“The deceased then demanded money from the suspect for the sexual act, which the suspect disputed.
“The deceased then threatened to open a case of rape against the suspect, which apparently led to the suspect hitting the woman over the head with a brick.”
She died on the scene.
“The witness was at the time visiting the deceased from Daveyton so she does not know the identity of the suspect.
“We advice women to stop engaging with strangers and to drink responsibly.”
