Katlego Mpoku, otherwise known as “Chicken” was found guilty for kidnapping and murdering Cuburne.
Cuburne went missing in August last year and his partially burnt body was found three days later, at a mine dump in Reiger Park.
After three days of intensive searching, members of the EMPD arrested “Chicken” in connection with the murder of the little boy.
He was arrested in Lambton on August 13, and he has made several court appearances ever since.
