Boksburg MMA duo shines in Primrose
Mixed martial arts fighters Isak Lombaard and Marcel Els could not have represented their academy better than when they secured gold in their respective fights, in Primrose, on Saturday, May 2.
The two, who are from the newly-named House of Tinkerbell Kickboxing and MMA Academy, formerly known as the XKT Boksburg Kickboxing Club, achieved their honours at the Fight Star 12 MMA event.
Their academy’s new name has drawn inspiration from owner and EFC Africa star JP Kruger, whose nickname is Tinkerbell.
Lombaard, who fought his light-heavyweight bout against Luan van Tonder, secured a decision victory after their battle went the distance (three rounds).
Els, who is also a coach at House of Tinkerbell, made quick work of opponent Fanie Prinsloo and secured the win inside the first round, from a triangle choke.
Els is scheduled to fly out to Las Vegas at the end of next month, to contest for the MMA Amateur World Title. – @SabeloBoksburg
