Are you aware of the distractions in your life?

“If you have a goal, write it down. If you do not write it down, you do not have a goal - you have a wish.” - Steve Maraboli

Until you are aware of the distractions in your life you are not in a position to save yourself or be saved by others.

Distractions are those things that hold you back and prevent you from becoming the person you were born to be.

These distractions may be your relationships, career, what you watch on television, what you read, what you listen to and so on.

Until you face them and deal with them, they will forever drag you down.

Ask yourself a question: “How does each of the above help me get closer to my destination?”

What really makes you aware of the distractions in your life?

Firstly, it is knowing where you are going (destination), how you are going to get there, when do you want to get there and who can help you get there (no man is an island)?

Secondly, it is continuously taking stock of the reality, of whether you are reaching your destination as planned.

There is no way, I mean, no way, that you can find out how far you are from the destination if there is none. So, having no, or no clearly defined destination is a recipe for frustration, anger and regret.

This also leads to blaming and complaining about everything around you, which generates negative energy in your life, leading to heart attacks, among other things.

So, stop keeping your fingers crossed and merely hoping that things are going to work out, set goals, run after them and continuously take stock, which helps you eliminate distractions in your life!
