Dog saved by caring residents

Boksburg residents saved a cross-Maltese terrier from death, and will also find her a new home.

The Advertiser published an article on January 9, about a cross-Maltese terrier that was taken to a vet after it was knocked down by a car on Trichardts Road, on January 7.

The vet was going to euthanase the dog today if no one came forward to claim it.

The dog sustained a fractured head which cost over R2000 to treat.

An angel named Alta Grobbelaar came forward and offered to pay the dog’s medical bills.

Grobbelaar said on the Advertiser Facebook Page, “I am going to see the vet this afternoon (January 8) to pay so that they can operate.

“They only operate between noon and 2pm daily, so she will be done tomorrow (January 9).”

Grobbelaar said Kerry Halfon will foster the dog when she comes out of hospital.

Another resident, Miche’lle Harris, also offered to foster her.

Grobberlaar called for anyone who wants to contribute to let her know and some residents, including Debbie Smith Olfsen and Wendy Tibbitts came forward.
