Robbers who cut off victim’s finger still at large

No arrests have been made yet in the the ruthless attack on three elderly people in Comet.

During the attack, which occurred during a house robbery on December 16, one victim’s finger was cut off in order to get the ring.

The incident involved three elderly people aged between 65 and 75.

Gauteng provincial police spokesperson Capt Doniah Mothutsane said: “It is alleged that the victims were tied up, before one of victim’s fingers was cut off.”

Two of the victims were taken to Tambo Memorial Hospital and the other to The Life Glynwood Hospital in Benoni for treatment.

The police appeal to anyone who might have information that might lead to the arrest or identification of suspects. Call 08600 10 111 or SMS Crime Line on 32211 or go to the nearest police station.
