CBC Boksburg u-13 cricket side crowned Easterns champions
The CBC Boksburg u-13A cricket team celebrated several significant wins culminating in them becoming the Easterns Schools cricket champions after beating Laerskool Rynfield by 68 runs in the November 6 final.
Following an impressive round robin in their Easterns campaign which was played between September and October, the local side went on to face Laerskool Impala in the semi-final before emerging as seven-wicket victors.
The win set-up a meeting with Rynfield, which was played at Hoerskool Hans Moore.
In addition, the team also participated in the Blesbokspruit League in Springs and won all their fixtures.
“Apart from these achievements, we’ve had a few other notable performances,” said Director of Sport at CBC, Justin Stoop.
“Our fixture against St John’s College stands out; we batted first and scored 429/3 in 50 overs, with Bryce Parson scoring a fantastic 269 runs. St John’s responded with 337/8 in 49 overs for a remarkable draw,” recalled Stoop.
“The boys are great role models for other youngsters who are working hard at honing their skills and setting their sights on becoming excellent cricketers,” he concluded.

Game 1 – beat Laerskool Dalview by 94 runs
Game 2 – beat Selection Park Primary by 71 runs
Game 3 – beat Laerskool Die Arend by 9 wickets
Game 4 – beat Laerskool Tini Vorster by 77 runs
Blesbokspruit final – beat Laerskool Jan van Riebeeck by 22 runs to be crowned champions. – @SabeloBoksburg
