The prayer session started at Brackenhurst Hall, Alberton, before it proceeded to the N12 freeway where a truck mowed through 48 cars and claimed three lives, recently.
Attendees included MMC for Public Transport, Planning and Provision Clr Thumbu Mahlangu, acting Ekurhuleni Chief of Police Ugeshni Naidoo, SAPS Southern Region cluster commander, Brig Phumla Mdlankomo, faith-based organisations and members of the community.
Siboza appealed to motorists countrywide to adhere to the rules of the road and warned them not to drink and drive.
“Alcohol and driving do not go together. I hope we will have a safe and road accident-free festive season in our region,” said Siboza.
