Woman arrested for perjury

A woman was arrested for perjury after she had alleged that she had been robbed.

According to Lieut Juanita Coetzer, communications officer for the Boksburg North SAPS, on August 31, the complainant alleged that she was walking on her way home when stopped by beggars.

“She said that they asked her for food and she took them to her residence to feed them.

“She further stated that after they finished eating, the man threatened her with a knife and they then took her work laptop,” says Coetzer.

She says that a case of armed robbery was opened by the complainant. The laptop belongs to a video shop in Witfield.

“The investigating officer, Det WO Vusi Tlemo, interviewed the complainant and then discovered she was lying about the robbery.”

A case of perjury was opened against the complainant and she was arrested.

“This must serve as a warning to all of the community; do not report falsely to the SAPS, as you will be facing the consequences.” – @CarmenBoksburg
