RNCA heads to Singapore for T20 showpiece

The Rowlin National Cricket Academy (RNCA) will be hoping to improve on its third place finish in 2012 when it flies out to Asia for the Singapore International Twenty20 Cricket Tournament on Monday, August 18.

The cricket meet will run from Friday to Sunday, August 22 to 24.

It includes teams that have Test, ODI and IPL players.

“We have a well-balanced team and trust that we will play to our potential and hopefully better our previous result (third),” said RNCA coach Ian Smith.

Participating teams include The Cricket Club of India, Madras (India), Hong Kong Cricket Club, Melbourne Cricket Club (Australia); Singhales Sports Club (Sri Lanka), Singapore National Team and the Singapore Cricket Club.

This year sees the RNCA invited to the tournament for the third time, having also featured in 2011 and 2012.

The tournament was not staged last year to accommodate F1 Motor GP activity.
