Teacher held for double stabbing in Freeway Park

A 27-year-old teacher from Witfield has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, after allegedly stabbing two people with a knife.

The incident happened on Saturday night, July 5.

According to Boksburg SAPS spokesman, Lieut Kwendzakwakhe Ngobese, the arrest followed an incident in Freeway Park, in which a homeowner and his domestic worker were viciously stabbed multiple times.

It is believed that the suspect went on a rampage in the victim’s home, and started stabbing the man.

He also allegedly brutally stabbed the domestic worker multiple times, before stealing valuable goods and fled the scene.

The suspect was later arrested in Potchefstroom, on suspicion of attempted murder and house robbery.

The suspect is being held in police custody, and will appear in court soon.

The woman is still recovering in hospital, and her condition is described as serious but stable. The man has been discharged from hospital.

The motive for the attack is unknown at this stage, but investigation continues.

Ngobese says detectives are working hard to establish what happened.
