Get inked for a good cause

East Rand residents are being asked to support a fundraising event for Brogan Mahony's medical bill, on June 7.

The event themed “Get Inked for Brogan”, will be held at Jozi Ink Custom Tattoos, situated in Great North Road, Benoni, next to Westpack Lifestyle Centre, from 9am till late.

Tattoo artists will be on hand to help people who want body tattoos, body piercing, cover ups and touch ups.

Half the proceeds will be donated to Brogan’s medical expenses.

“Brogan’s love of tattoos has resulted in the tattoo shop dedicating a day in his honour,” says one of the event organisers, Yvonne Calaça.

“His road ahead is a long and costly one, but with the help of family and friends we continue to provide the medical attention he requires.

Brogan was brutally attacked on his 26th birthday, on December 14.

He was found by paramedics at 3am, on Commissioner Street, Boksburg CBD, after being left unconscious.

According to his mother, Xavier Mahony, Brogan was rushed to Glynwood Hospital in Benoni, with severe head injuries, resulting from allegedly being beaten with a brick on the head, which was found at the scene.

The motive for the brutal assault of Brogan is still unknown, but police are still investigating the matter.

To find out more about the event call Gerald du Randt on 082 261 8276 or Calaça 082 525 2471.
