Burglaries still rampant in Boksburg

Despite police operation targeting burglars, house robbery and break-ins continues to be a serious problem in certain areas of Boksburg, considering its high occurrence rate.

Doors and windows are the primary route of entry and exit for most burglars, so it’s vital that residents secure them effectively.

A police report indicates that Farrar Park, Boksburg South, Libradene and Angelo informal settlement are among the burglary hotspots areas, with areas of Parkrand and Freeway Park coming up top for the most burgled areas in the city.

The police say they have a crime prevention programme designed to reduce burglary problems in these high-crime residential areas.

The police operation has seen a couple of suspects arrested on suspicion of burglary in the Boksburg area.

Some of the suspects were arrested after they were found in possession of numerous pieces of house break-in and car break-in equipments.

The police say, as long as this problem exists, the police will continue to try and identify and target those main players that are tied up in the property offences in the Boksburg area.
