Boksburg FC defeats Blackball United 3-1 in a derby match

It was an intense match, both teams were competing for the ball.

Boksburg FC U8 team had to dig deep to come back from behind and win against Blackball United in a derby match at Boksburg Stadium on May 20.

The match began with Boksburg exacting pressure on their opposition, but missing clear-cut opportunities.
Motsi Moloi, a Boksburg FC player, pulled out a long-range shot in the first few minutes of the match, but the shot-stopper of the opposition saved it.

Later, a striker of Boksburg, Amogelang Pasha, had a great opportunity, but the goalkeeper of the opposition saved it.

Blackball United retaliated. Owethu Tshabalala broke the deadlock and scored the first goal of the match for Blackball, letting the team lead the match 1-0.

Boksburg wasted no time and responded instantly by equalising through Phenyo Dikgale, who created his opportunity from a good run from the right flank.

Both teams were level on points 1-1. Pasha kept trying his luck. He unleashed a long-range shot, saved by the opposition’s shot-stopper as well. Boksburg kept mounting pressure on its neighbours.

Dikgale also attempted a long-range shot, but the goalkeeper, who seemed unstoppable on the day, saved it again.

A Boksburg player Junior Mashilo finally beat the goalkeeper who saved Blackball on numerous occasions and put Boksburg in the 2-1 lead for the first time in the match.

Amogelang, who proved to be a nuisance for the Blackball defence extended the lead for Boksburg to 3-0.
Boksburg continued to dominate the match, but couldn’t get a fourth goal. The match ended with Boksburg winning 3-0.
