LETTER: Do you know Vleis van Zyl?

In 1999, I travelled with members of an SA rescue team to Izmit in Türkiye after a devastating earthquake.

I am trying to trace Vleis van Zyl, who assisted with the rescue work.

I am not sure, but I think he and some of the others worked at the Boksburg Fire Station.

He gave his jacket to a little girl who walked down a street crying. I am using the picture in my latest book.
