Kuselo honours its heroes

The NPO provides a stable home for babies and young children.

Not all heroes wear capes. Some go above and beyond to make a difference in the lives of children at Kuselo Child and Youth Care Services.

To thank and honour these companies and individuals, Kuselo recently held its annual My Hero Day at Excelsior Academic College in Boksburg North.

During the event, Boksburg Advertiser, companies, NGOs, security companies, SAPS, various churches and the public received certificates of gratitude for their contribution to child protection.

“We thank the community and public for their continued love and support of Kuselo. Their generosity and care ensure that we keep our doors open to care for children who have been removed from their homes due to severe abuse and neglect.

“I especially want to thank Ebbiegail and Rika Kramm for the hard work and dedication,” said Amanda Coetzee, founder of Kuselo.

She said a special thank you certificate was given to 10-year-old Hayley Kramm for the love and understanding she gives to the children at the Kuselo Heaven Sent safe house.

The organisation also paid tribute to the late Sergeant Vusi Batsha and Constable Kgotso Malahlela and all fallen heroes who lost their lives in the line of duty.

Coetzee highlighted Kuselo relies on the community’s support and does not receive government funding.

The organisation needs financial assistance for transport costs and salaries. They also require gas for the stove and geyser as well as diesel.

If you can assist the organisation in any way, contact Coetzee on 072 512 7227.
