Matrics ready for final exams

The matrics wrote economics on November 1 and will write Afrikaans on November 2, history and engineering graphics and design on November 3 and mathematics/math literacy on November 4.

Matrics across the country sat down for their Nasional Senior Certificate on October 31, where they wrote English Paper 1.

The Boksburg Advertiser spoke to matriculants from Hoërskool Dr EG Jansen to find out how they feel about the outcome of the paper.

A few learners described the language paper as a walk in the park.

“I found the paper easy. The language questions were just a bit tricky,” said one learner, Armandie Willemse.

“Our teachers worked hard to prepare us for the exams, so I believe we are ready for the exams. I also want to wish other matriculants the best of luck for the rest of the exams,” she explained.

Learners from EG Jansen have to be at the school at least an hour before the exams as a precautionary measure in case of delays such as traffic congestion.

She added the school experienced load-shedding during the exams, however, the generator kicked in.

The matriculants said they are making use of alternative ways to study during load-shedding.

Werner van Niekerk wished the Class of 2022 well with their matric exams.

“May the ink they put on their answer sheets open doors for them in the future.”
