Moses Chinyamola (28) from Hillbrow and Roben Diyas were sentenced to six years’ imprisonment, of which two years’ imprisonment is suspended for five years, on September 30 for breaking into a store.

Chinyamola and Diyas pleaded guilty to a charge of house robbery with the intent to steal and theft, on September 30.

They broke into Westpack Lifestyle and stole R8 000 on August 31.

Magistrate Shilubana presided and prosecutor Mooiman represented the State.

False statement
Nkosnatni Mkhize (28) from Mapleton was sentenced to 12 months’ imprisonment, wholly suspended for five years, on September 29, for making a false statement.

He pleaded guilty and was found guilty on September 29.

Mkhize falsely stated in a sworn statement that he was hijacked and robbed of R10 000 and a cellphone on October 18, 2019.

Magistrate Shilubana presided and prosecutor Mooiman represented the State.

Theft
Teboho Michael Masupe (37) from Vosloorus was sentenced to eight months behind bars and declared unfit to possess a firearm on September 29 for stealing.

He pleaded guilty to a charge of theft on September 15 and was found guilty the same day.

He stole three packets of forks from U-Save.

Magistrate Cronje presided and prosecutor Mokwathi represented the State.
