Boksburg SPCA needs volunteers for their outreach

The main objective of the outreach is to educate the public and to sterilise and assist as many animals as possible.

Boksburg SPCA requires volunteers to assist them on a rotational basis with outreach work on Tuesdays.

Boksburg SPCA is currently doing its outreach project in Villa Liza.

We leave the SPCA at around 11:30 and arrive back at about 16:00.

According to Boksburg SPCA manager Vicky Finnemore, volunteers help to manage the crowds, complete on-site documentation, dip dogs and do deworming.

“This voluntary work is not for persons sensitive to the harsh realities we deal with in underprivileged areas. Our mission is to educate and sterilise. We need friendly, diplomatic, reliable volunteers with good communication skills who are not afraid to get their hands dirty. The person must be over 18, love animals, understand SPCA rules and policies and be physically fit,” explained Finnemore.

If you think you’ve got what it takes to make a difference in our community, send an email to manager@boksburgspca.co.za.
