Man shot during house robbery in Witfield

The robbers escaped with a TV, laptop, two cell phones and cash.

A man was rushed to hospital after being shot in the thigh during a house robbery at an apartment at the Royal Reef Estate, Witfield, on September 13.

According to Boksburg North SAPS spokesperson Constable Justice Ramaube, the victim told the police he was woken up at about 03:10 by three armed men who pointed firearms at him.

The men told the victim to keep quiet and lie still.

They searched the house and took a TV, laptop, two cellphones and R1 500.

“The victim called for help and the suspects shot him in his right thigh. He was then taken to a hospital,” said Ramaube.

Ramaube added the suspects entered the victim’s apartment by breaking a window. It is still unclear how they managed to enter the complex.

Police are investigating a case of house robbery.
