Boksburg FC U12 keeps momentum going

The team is now six points clear with only three matches left and unbeaten thus far.

Boksburg FC U12 travelled to Birch Acres (A) for a crunch game in the Easterns Local Football Association (ELFA) League Two on August 13.

Boksburg went confident into the game as the opposition are two places below them on 31 points compared to the 50 points amassed by Boksburg FC.

For the first 10 minutes, Boksburg FC was under constant pressure from Birch Acres midfield destroyers, which led to coach Sheldon Louw making a tactical change in an attempt to ease the pressure.

The tactical change paid immediate dividends as midfielder Jody Varrie hit a sweetly struck shot high that left the Birch Acres shot-stopper with no chance midway through the half.

Boksburg FC was on the ascendency, which forced the opposition into committing cynical fouls, one of which was inside the box which resulted in a penalty that Abriam Finnies couldn’t convert.

The second half kicked off with Boksburg FC leading by one goal. Birch Acres came out guns blazing and forced Finnies into making four match saves through the course of the second half.

The Blues secured three points five minutes from stoppage time through a sweetly struck shot from top goal scorer Pule Matuka which found the top corner.

The maximum point from this match leaves Boksburg FC in the driving seat to secure the league title.
