Bernina Boksburg walked away with the Dealer of the Year and meritorious awards at the Bernina Annual Competition Winners ceremony recently.
The store, which has only been open for two years, competed against 68 national branches. Owner Adele Huyzers said it took endurance and sacrifice to win these awards.
She explained Bernina South Africa uses this competition as motivation for dealers to achieve their budget.
“I had to compete with branches that have been in existence for more than 20 years,” said Huyzers.
“In our first year, Bernina Boksburg won the Development Dealer of the Year Award.”
She attributed her success and being awarded these accolades largely to her customers.
“We have great customers who support us. We believe in building good relationships with them, and I think it is important to build trust and be honest with customers. Above all, we love what we do, and that makes all our effort worthwhile.”

Huyzers said it is an honour to win the awards and that the Boksburg team operates with passion, honesty and integrity, which makes it possible to be a winning team.
“Every branch wants to win, and it is the biggest reward an owner can achieve. This win proves nothing is impossible.
“We are proud to carry this title for the next year. It builds faith in our customers to always return to us,” said Huyzers.
She thanked her staff, customers and dealer manager Ivan Stevens.
“I would especially like to thank my shop assistant, Ruth Makara, teacher Belinda van Wyk, technician Brandon Smith and technical assistant Abbigail Rausere.
“Without customers, we can’t succeed. For the nearby customers and those who travel thousands of kilometres, we are grateful for the support. A special thank you to Mr Stevens for the support and guidance.
“I am grateful for all my blessings. No one can achieve greater things without other significant people in their lives,” concluded Huyzers.
