The veld where the body was discovered is adjacent to the taxi rank on the corner of Barry Marias and Trichardt roads.
Capt Dan Mahlangu of the Dawn Park SAPS said they have opened a murder case and are investigating.
“The first thing we are going to do is identify the person and locate the family. Anyone who has any information about the murder can come to the Dawn Park Police Station and inform Det Ngoepe.”
Sbongile Thusi, who found the body, said: “I was terrified when I saw this burnt body. It is not the first time I see something like this. It has been happening here in Windmill Park, especially here in this veld that is stretching from Windmill Park to Villa Liza. These killings must come to an end.”
