SPCA Christmas Cheer Fund almost at halfway mark

The public can donate to the fund until the end of January.

The Boksburg SPCA reminds individuals and businesses to support its Christmas Cheer Fund, which aims to raise money to cater to all the furry friends that need to be fed and supported over the Christmas season.

The fund will be running until the end of January, so please continue to help raise much-needed funds for its four-legged friends at the Boksburg SPCA, like Oliver.

The little dachshund-cross was surrendered to the SPCA in May, in a bucket filled with car oil, as his owner didn’t want him anymore. Oliver was skeletal and sick when the SPCA took him in and has had several veterinary interventions to bring him back to a bouncy, cheeky pup.

Oliver is only one example of the hundreds of animals the SPCA has helped this year, which is why they aim to raise R100 000 with the Christmas Cheer Fund.

The society has raised about R40 000 thus far.

To donate to the fund, visit the society’s premises at Railway Street, Boksburg, or deposit the donation into the bank account: Boksburg SPCA, Absa Bank, branch code 632005, account number 4046388139.
