Inquest launched after woman’s body found at Boksburg cemetery

The woman was from Witfield.

Boksburg police are investigating the death of a woman whose body was found at the cemetery on St Dominic’s Road in Boksburg East, recently.

She was identified as 65-year-old Salome Esther Boshoff, of Witfiled, who had disappeared from home with her car.

Although the Boksburg SAPS spokesperson, Sgt Ntsako Ledwabawas, was unable to immediately give the full details, she confirmed the discovery, saying police were called to the cemetery after someone stumbled upon the unresponsive woman lying on the ground next to her car.

“She was pronounced dead on scene. Next to her, officers found lots of pills. It’s suspected she may have overdosed on pills. However, as part of the investigation, a postmortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death.

“Her family members have been informed and are assisting our investigators with the inquest,” explained Ledwaba.
